The Emerging Microwave Technologies Group was created in 2005 to carry out researh in RF/microwaves area.

Nowadays this group is a consolidated research and development center consisting of three faculty researchers with considerable years of industrial and academic experience.

The EMT group and its members have received several awards, among which we find the IEEE-MTT "Creativity and Originality in Microwave Measurements" during IMS 2010; the "Most Innovative Design" by Rogers Corporation at the IEEE MTT IMS 2012; and the Fulbright-Garcia Robles Fellowship Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, USA 2009.

The projects carried out in the group (some in collaboration with other national and international institutions) have been in the development of front-end transceivers for wireless communications from a few GHz to millimeter waves, microwave components using superconductors, millimeter wave receivers for astronomical observations, metamaterial circuits at microwave frequencies and micromachined RF systems.
