Dear Participant,
This is the final announcement for the Conference on Cosmic Evolution and Galaxy Formation. The preliminary Scientific program is enclosed at the end, in addition to information about social events during the conference days and other logistic information.
In reply to the many queries we have received from pre-registered participants, the situation in Puebla city is of complete normality after the floods that have affected the Gulf and Central Mexico. Please, note that the main affected area in the State of Puebla has been the North Mountain Chain, 200 Km away from the city of Puebla, and not Puebla City.
TALKS and POSTER CONTRIBUTIONS
We had a large number of requests for oral presentations, and we have done a very strong effort to allocate time to as many participants as possible. Invited talks will have 35-minutes and a contributed talks 20-minutes, including discussion.
A space of 1-meter width and at least 1.2-meter height will be available for each poster. You are expected to put your poster before the session starts on Monday and remove it on Friday. Ample time is provided during the coffee breaks for poster viewing. A session of short presentations of a few selected posters is included in the program. These will be selected during the conference.
Please let us know if you need anything special for your oral or poster presentations.
All the submitted abstracts will be included in the abstract booklet, which will be distributed at the time of registration. The abstracts will also be available in ADS.

All the invited talks and contributions (either talks or posters) will be included in the conference proceedings.
Instructions to the authors for the preparation of the manuscripts will be given during the conference.
Registration of the participants for the conference will begin at 8:00 PM at the Hotel Camino Real. The registration will continue on Monday morning at the conference venue.
Important: PLEASE NOTE THAT PAYMENTS AT THE REGISTRATION DESK SHOULD BE MADE IN CASH ONLY (US dollars or Mexican pesos; no checks or credit cards). PAYMENTS FOR HOTELS ROOMS SHOULD ALSO BE MADE AT THE REGISTRATION DESK OF THE CONFERENCE on Sunday or Monday. You will have to set your service bills (telephone, bar, ...) at the hotel desk when you check out.
Autumn in Puebla has mild temperatures 15-20 C during the day, but can be chilly during the night and early in the morning. Rain is not expected, but then, this is being an unusual year.

An optional tour to the ruins of Cacaxtla
will also be offered.
THURSDAY 8:00 PM at Restaurante Meson del Molino --- CONFERENCE DINNER
The
conference dinner is OPTIONAL and will have a cost of US$35.00 or equivalently
350 Mexican
pesos. The dinner will be accompanied by marimba music and a dancing afterwards.
