Each invited talk is of 30-minute duration and a contributed talk is of 15-minute duration, including discussions. A space of 1-meter width and at least 1.2-meter height will be available for each poster. You are expected to put your poster before the session starts on Monday and remove it on Friday. Ample time is provided during the coffee breaks for poster viewing. Please let us know if you need anything special for your oral or poster presentation. ABSTRACT BOOK AND PROCEEDINGS ----------------------------- All the submitted abstracts will be included in the abstract book, which will be distributed at the time of registration. The abstracts will also be available at the ADS from December 21. You can access it through the customized query form available at the conference homepage or directly at http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abstract_service.html. In the latter case, you can query for your abstracts by putting turb in the field "Selected journals" and check that field. This will filter your query to return only abstracts from the Interstellar Turbulence conference. All the invited talks and a few SELECTED contributions (either talks or posters) will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be published by Cambridge University Press (in the new Cambridge Contemporary Astrophysics series). The selection of the contributions to be included in the proceedings will be done during the conference. Instructions to the authors for the preparation of the manuscripts will be given during the conference. REGISTRATION ------------ Registration of the participants for the conference will begin at 8:00 PM at the Hotel Colonial. The registration will continue on Monday morning at the conference venue. Payments for both Hotel Colonial and San Leonardo will be done at the registration desk. Important: PLEASE NOTE THAT PAYMENTS AT THE REGISTRATION DESK SHOULD BE MADE IN CASH ONLY (US dollars or Mexican pesos; no cheques please!) FOOD ---- We are hoping to serve you with typical Mexican dishes during the conference. Most of these items are meat-based and hence it is NECESSARY THAT YOU INFORM US (turb98@inaoep.mx) IMMEDIATELY IF YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN or if you have any special diet. WEATHER ------- This winter is turning out to be unusually cold with night time temperatures (mid-December) around 5 degree Celsius, or lower. So be prepared for cool/lukewarm (not too cold) days and afternoons BUT CHILLY NIGHTS AND FROSTY EARLY MORNINGS DURING THE CONFERENCE. We even have had some light rain these days, something unusual for December. PLANNED SOCIAL EVENTS ---------------------------- SUNDAY 8:00 PM at Hotel Colonial ---- WELCOME COCKTAIL The registration at Hotel Colonial will be accompanied by A WELCOME COCKTAIL with Mariachis. MONDAY 8:00 PM at Casa de Cultura (Puebla) --- RECEPTION Drinks and Snacks accompanied by traditional Mexican dances. WEDNESDAY afternoon --- VISIT to historical places and LUNCH at INAOE Visits to the historical pyramid in Cholula and the ancient Church Santa Maria de Tonantzintla. These will be followed by a special LUNCH at INAOE. THURSDAY 8:00 PM at Restaurante El Sindicato --- CONFERENCE DINNER The conference dinner is OPTIONAL and costs US$30.00 or equivalently 250 pesos. The dinner is followed by a speech from Prof. Guido Munch about Turbulence in the Orion Nebula. Music (Marichi and dancing) will be accompanying the dinner (and Guido!!!).
