The calls for admission to the INAOE master's degrees close on April 17

Santa María Tonantzintla, Puebla, April 14, 2023. Next Monday, April 17, the admission calls to enter the master's programs of the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE) in August 2023 close.
The calls for INAOE master's degrees are aimed at graduates of Physics, Mathematics, Engineering and related areas.
This was reported by Dr. Francisco Javier Renero Carrillo, director of Academic Training at INAOE, who added that the aforementioned programs are divided into three modalities: research, professionalization and technology.

The first modality, that of research, is the one with the longest tradition at the Institute, commented the also researcher. “These postgraduate courses are from Astrophysics, Optics, Electronics and Computational Sciences, and the two transversal programs: Space Science and Technology and Biomedical Sciences and Technologies”, he pointed out.
The second type of master's degree offered by INAOE is technological, with the industry: “This is a master's degree that is aimed at people who are interested in security, including people who are working. This is the master's degree in Security Sciences and Technologies. In this case, the call closes on May 5.”
Finally, the third modality is that of a professional master's degree aimed at all those who want to dedicate themselves to teaching exact sciences: the master's degree in Teaching Exact Sciences (MECE). In this master's degree, graduates of the Normal Schools of the country will also be accepted.
“The Academic Nucleus of this master's degree is made up of researchers from the traditional research postgraduate courses, which is why it is also considered a transversal postgraduate course. In addition, postdocs from the teaching area have been incorporated, making MECE an excellent postgraduate course for those interested in teaching”, highlighted Dr. Renero.
Questioned about the issue of scholarships, the director of Academic Training said: “In the framework of the Conacyt national scholarship program, the student directly requests the scholarship to the Council. The basic requirement is that the postgraduate course be recognized in the National Postgraduate Program. Therefore, students can directly request scholarships from Conacyt”. MECE does not have a record in the National Postgraduate Program.
To conclude, Dr. Renero invited the young people to participate in the calls: “You will not find any national or international institution like the INAOE. There are many institutions that offer these postgraduate courses, but not in a place like this, not with the researchers we have, not with facilities like ours. We are unique".
