The INAOE Postgraduate Fair was held successfully

  • More than 400 students from different states attended.
  • There were talks, visits to telescopes and laboratories and exhibition tables.
  • The event coincided with the publication of the admission calls for master's degrees.

Santa María Tonantzintla, February 28, 2024. More than 400 students from different higher education institutions in Puebla, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Aguascalientes and San Luis Potosí attended the Postgraduate Fair of the National Institute of Astrophysics , Optics and Electronics (INAOE), a center coordinated by the National Council of Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (Conahcyt), which took place this day in Tonantzintla.

The program of activities began at nine in the morning. In the main garden of the INAOE, tables from the Directorate of Academic Training and the different postgraduate courses were set up where researchers and students from the INAOE answered questions from the attendees about the different master's programs.

In addition, simultaneous talks were offered, two from each graduate. The speakers were doctors Anabel Sánchez and Raquel Díaz, as well as doctors Eduardo Mendoza, Wilfrido Calleja, Miguel Morales, Alejandro Gutiérrez, Alfredo Morales, Roberto Romano, Daniel Rosa and Alejandro Torres.

Likewise, there were views of the historic Schmidt Chamber of Tonantzintla, the solar telescope, the Optics Workshop and the different laboratories of Astrophysics, Optics, Electronics and Computer Sciences.

The event coincided with the launch of the calls to enter the INAOE master's degrees in Astrophysics, Optics, Electronics, Computer Sciences, Space Science and Technology, Biomedical Sciences and Technologies, Security Sciences and Technologies and Teaching of Exact Sciences.

The admission process is made up of registration, validation of information and admission either by exam modality or by preparatory courses.

It is important to add that the 14 INAOE postgraduate courses, particularly the master's degrees, are recognized by the Conahcyt National Postgraduate System, that is, the students who are accepted can apply as scholarship holders to the Council.
