XII National and II International Congress of Technology Applied to Health Sciences

Puebla, Puebla, June 10th, 2022. With the participation of prominent national and international researchers, the twelfth national and second international edition of the Congress of Technology Applied to Health Sciences (CONITACS) began yesterday, which will be performed in hybrid mode.

The congress takes place from June 9 to 11 and this year's venue is the Linking Center of the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla (UPAEP), which will be receiving more than one hundred students from various states of the country, especially of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, and another hundred students from other nations, especially from Latin America, through a new digital platform where each of them interacts simultaneously with all the participants. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Daniel Durini Romero, Director of Research and Technological Development on behalf of Dr. Edmundo Antonio Gutiérrez Domínguez, General Director of the National Institute of Optical and Electronic Astrophysics; Dr. Laura Contreras Mioni, President of the Local Organizing Committee of CONITACS and Dean of Biological Sciences of UPAEP; the mtro. Ramiro Antonino Bernal Cuevas, Director of the Department of Science and Engineering of the Universidad Ibeoramericana Puebla; Dr. Arturo Fernández Téllez, Director of Scientific Dissemination of the BUAP; Dr. Mariano Sánchez Cuevas, Academic Vice Chancellor of the UPAEP, and Dr. Eduardo Tepichín Rodríguez, President of the National Organizing Committee and Leader of the Image Sciences and Vision Physics Group of the INAOE.

The objective of CONITACS is to present new diagnostic and treatment technologies in various areas of health sciences. This Congress is a multidisciplinary forum where experts in medicine, exact sciences and engineering participate, presenting possible solutions to specific problems through technological developments.

In this regard, Dr. Daniel Durini, Director of Technological Development of the INAOE, expressed that for the INAOE and the participating institutions these efforts are very important, since currently scientific and technological development can be part of the resolution of specific problems. in society, these ideas arise in this type of congresses, which strengthen institutional ties that allow finding new techniques of scientific development applied to the health sector.

Likewise, Dr. Eduardo Tepichín thanked the UPAEP for opening the space to CONITACS and the sponsoring institutions, since without them this congress could not be held. He pointed out that all conferences are plenary due to the level of research papers being presented this year.

The CONITACS program is made up of keynote lectures by leading scientists from various countries, which will be given remotely and in person. Yesterday innovative works were presented in different areas of health and optics, with the presence of Dr. Hernán Mauricio Rivera Escobar, Professor of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Tolima, Colombia; Dr. Carlos Omar López López, from the Universidad Iberoamericana CDMX; Dr. Andrés Eliu Castell Rodríguez, from the UNAM Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Alejandro García Armenta from the UPAEP, and Dr. Douglas Antonio Hernández Torres, from the Central American University “José Simeón Cañas” UCA

Like every year, the congress has poster sessions that are presented virtually and there will be an evaluation committee that will reward the best research and development work in medical applications.
