Research

My three general interests

Hydrodynamics

I use Magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) models to study some Astrophysical systems, such as Molecular Clouds, Stellar Clusters, Protoplanetary disks, among others.

Supercomputing

Supercomputing is a fundamental pillar in Astrophysics. I am interested in the optimization of MHD codes using GPU parallelization.

Visualization

We are in the Big Data era. Modern MHD codes produce Terabytes of data, which we need to analyze in parallel (OpenMP + MPI) mainly with languages such as Python.

Projects

My three main current projects:

Wolverine

A new MHD code

Galaxy

Structure formation

Protoplanets

Protoplanetry disks
