My Native village is called Yalia, which is situated in the valleys
between the Arabian Sea and The Western Ghats in Southern India.
Western Ghats are mountain ranges, rich in tropical forest, running
parallel to the west coast of Southern India. The area between the
Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea is known for heavy rain fall (Monsoon) which
maintains the nature green throughout the year. The innumerable number of
rivers add to the natural beauty of the region. Mangalore, on the coast
is the most famous town in this area and is easily reached by Airplane,
train or Bus from Mumbai (1000 Kms North) or Bangalore (350 Km east).
The nearest town (10 kms) to my native village is Puttur, which is
around 60 kms south-east of Mangalore. If ever you want to enjoy this
green village, contact my brother Chandrashekhar Mayya (speaks English, Hindi,
Kannada, Tulu) at the following address!!!
