Fourth Astronomy Olympiad in INAOE, Mexico

The National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), located in the small town of Tonantzintla, in the state of Puebla, Mexico, invites you to participate in the Fourth Astronomy Olympiad. Registration can be made on-line, in one of the two following categories:

a) High School Category: only for Mexican residents.

b) College Category: for Bachelor Science and Engineering students that live in Central America, the Caribbean and the Mexican Republic. To qualify for the competition, students must be less then 23 years old on December 31st, 2008. Postgraduate students can not be accepted.

Tests will be held in two stages and will consist of questions and problems in Astronomy. The first stage held in June 2008, will be an on-line evaluation.
These students achieving the highest scores in this first stage will be selected for the next round of the competition. The second stage of the Astronomy Olympiad will take place at INAOE (Mexico) between October 20th and 24th, 2008, and will consist of a written test.

1st Place: Laptop
2nd Place: Telescopes and Books
3rd Place: Scientific Calculator.
