From the airports

Mexico City International Airport (AICM — MEX)

Most participants will arrive here. The recommended way to reach Puebla is by coach bus operated by Estrella Roja, which departs directly from the airport.

  • Terminal 1 (T1): Bus station in the international area, between gates 7 and 8, access through Sala F (first level).
  • Terminal 2 (T2): Bus station next to the terminal building, access through Sala D, gate 4, near national arrivals.
~2.5 hrs to Puebla MXN $480 (~USD $28) Approx. hourly departures

Estrella Roja operates two routes. We recommend Paseo Destino Terrapuerto as it is closer to INAOE. Tickets can be purchased at the airport counters or in advance at estrellaroja.com.mx.

We do not recommend taking a taxi directly from Mexico City airports to Puebla — the cost is disproportionately high.

Felipe Ángeles Airport (AIFA — NLU)

AIFA is located north of Mexico City. Similar instructions apply as for AICM — Estrella Roja also serves this route.

MXN $545 (~USD $31)

Please plan for additional travel time compared to AICM.

Hermanos Serdán Airport (PBC — Puebla)

Served by Volaris, Viva Aerobus, and United Airlines (from Houston IAH). Located in Huejotzingo, approximately 30 km from INAOE.

  • Use the official Transportes Terrestres taxi stand at the airport, or a ride-sharing platform if available.
MXN $300–400 (~USD $17–23) to INAOE
