Puebla

The City of Puebla de los Angeles, now de Zaragoza, is located in central Mexico; 120 km southeast of Mexico City and 280 km from the Gulf of Mexico. It is located in the central-western area of the state of Puebla, in the Valley of Puebla-Tlaxcala and has one of the most beautiful landscapes of Mexico, having the natural scenery of the Popocatepetl volcano and his lifelong companion Iztaccihuatl.

The City of Puebla is a strategic communication and commerce spot, offering the visitors the benefits of a city that is modern, entrepreneurial, competitive and committed to the development of the country; while offering a large number of cultural, natural and historic attractions that only a city with more than four centuries of history can offer. During your visit you should not miss the Cathedral which is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and with the tallest towers of all the cathedrals in the continent. The famous Capilla del Rosario (Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel) has been called the Eigth Wonder of the World since its opening on April 16, 1690. The Biblioteca Palafoxiana, the only ancient library of the Americas recognized by the UNESCO as Memory of the World, in June 2005.

Some important historical events have occurred in the city of Puebla, making it a fundamental reference in the history of Mexico. Most importantly, it was the site of the Cinco de Mayo Battle on May 5, 1862, in which the Mexican Army defeated the French Army, considered the strongest at the time.

You can also enjoy the Puebla's cuisine, one of the most varied and exquisites in the world, with dishes such as Mole Poblano, Chiles en Nogada, Chalupas and Cemitas. If you are not convinced yet, please have a look to the note at The New York Times.
